Alnwick 15 miles, Berwick upon Tweed 15 miles, Bamburgh 5 miles, Seahouses 8 miles, Lindisfarne (Holy Island) 8 miles, Wooler (Cheviot hills and National Park) 8 miles. Many National Trust and English Heritage properties to visit in this location, as well as castles and grand houses still in private ownership (Alnwick Castle, Manderston, Chillingham Castle). All village amenities within walking distance. Golf, horse riding, fishing, cycling, canoeing as well as many other outdoor pursuits available locally. Abundant bird- and wildlife in unspoilt coast and countryside - visit the seal and puffin colonies on the Farne Islands or walk amongst the Cheviot hills. Pets welcome. All cottages may be booked for short breaks (minimum of two nights - subject to availability). Prices include provision of bed linen, and all gas and electricity charges.
